Nov. 17, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – The Lady Wildcats suffered another tough loss on Saturday. With a strong start to the game, the Wildcats used a tough defense to control a 14-7 deficit after one quarter of play.
UW-WC held the Buccaneers to 25% shooting in the first period. However, the Buccaneers began to find their rhythm, and they shot 50% from the field en route to a 23-9 advantage in the second quarter.
The Wildcats struggled offensively throughout the first half shooting 18% from the field and connecting on a pair of 3 pointers.
The second half continued to carry the same narrative with offensive struggles for UW-WC and turnovers that piled up.
UW-Marinette controlled the game start to finish and left with a 76-35 victory over UW-WC.
Greta Strasser lead the Wildcats in scoring with 13 points including three made threes. Kayla Boehm came one basket short of a double-double with eight points and 12 rebounds. Sammie Brown added another six points to go along with seven rebounds and two steals.
UW-WC will play after the Thanksgiving break on Nov. 28 at home against UW-Waukesha.
