Dec. 13, 2016 – West Bend, WI – The UW-Washington County mens basketball team traveled to UW-Baraboo Monday night and returned with a 75-61 victory, the Wildcat’s 8th win in its last 9 games.
Aaron Rathke led the Wildcats with 22 points on 5 out of 6 3-point shooting and 7 out of 8 free throw shooting. Rathke added 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 blocked shots.
Dre Johnson scored 16 points, contributing 7 rebounds and 3 steals as well. Derrick Chaney connected on 7 of his 9 shots to finish with 14 points while adding 3 steals.
Point guard Javon Williams had 6 assists, 2 steals and a team high 10 rebounds.
Evan Rathke scored 8 points to go with 5 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Shaun Fischer hauled in 7 rebounds and scored 6 points. Randy Howard added a pair of steals, a pair of assists, and a pair of baskets. Rashaun Jackson was 1-1 shooting with 2 assists and a blocked shot. Rohan Behari grabbed 3 rebounds.
This game concludes the Wildcats first semester schedule with an 8-3 record, 5-1 in conference play, good for 2nd place at the semester break.
After practicing on Tuesday, the team will recognize the conference’s mandatory final exam break, and will not practice again for the next 11 days until restarting practices on Dec. 26.
The Wildcats return to game action on Monday, Jan. 9 when UW-Richland travels to West Bend for a 7:15 p.m. contest.
