Oct. 25, 2017 – Washington Co., WI – The UW-Washington County volleyball team finished its season with the Wisconsin Collegiate Conference State Tournament Runner-Up trophy.
The team played extremely well the entire tournament. The Lady Wildcats started tournament play as the No. 2 seed. “We finished pool play with a record of 8 – 2 advancing to the semifinals against UW-Sheboygan,” said coach Deb Butschlick.

Match #1 UW Fox Valley winning 25-7, 25-12
Match #2 UW Waukesha winning 25 – 9, 25 – 15
Match #3 UW Fond du Lac losing 25-14, 25 – 17
Match #4 UW Baraboo winning 25 – 15, 25 – 21
Match #5 UW Marshfield winning 25 – 9, 25 – 15
Both teams played a great semifinal match, according to Butschlick, but the Lady Wildcats came out on top winning 25 – 15, 25 – 21.
“The team came out ready to play, we worked hard for each point, and everything we worked on all season really came together,” she said. “The team served with accuracy, played a tough defensive game and continued to excel with a fast offense.”
The finals match was against UW-Fond du Lac, the team played its heart out, but was just not able to pull off the win losing 25-15, 25-17.
“The best part of the tournament was everyone was able to contribute to the team with their own special skills,” Butschlick said

Kayla Boehm – 39 kills and 16 blocks
