Feb. 5, 2018 – West Bend, WI – The UW-WC Wildcats suffered another tough loss against the undefeated Marathon Huskies. The Wildcats held a slim 13-12 lead but the Huskies went on a devastating 26-6 run.
As the Huskies continued to press, the Wildcats continued to struggle and lose the turnover battle.
However, when they broke the press, the Wildcats shot 66 percent from the field and 40 percent from the 3-point arc. Yet, the hot shooting was not enough and UW-WC trailed 39-18 after one quarter.
The second quarter brought more of the same struggles for Washington County as they failed to control the ball.
The Wildcats went into halftime trailing 68-29. In the end turnovers were too much and UW-Washington County fell to the Huskies 122-55.
Meghan MacFarlane lead the Wildcats with 15 points including 3 three’s. She also contributed on defense with a season high three blocks and a steal. Greta Strasser also added 12 points with four 3 pointers.
The Wildcats play at home Wednesday against UW-Waukesha. Tip off is at 5:30 p.m.
