2 rescued after UTV goes through ice in Dodge Co., WI | By Dodge Co. Sheriff

January 6, 2025 – Dodge Co., WI – On Sunday, January 5, 2025, at approximately 5 p.m. the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a UTV that had gone through the ice on Sinissippi Lake in the Town of Hustisford.

Preliminary investigation shows that the UTV, a 2024 Polaris, was traveling north on Sinissippi Lake when it went through the ice.

The Hustisford Fire Department worked in coordination with the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and were able to successfully pull both occupants from the UTV out of the water and back to shore. Both occupants were uninjured as a result of the UTV going through the ice.

The passenger, a 46-year-old male from Hustisford Wisconsin was released at the scene without any injuries.

The driver, Adam C Malterer (M/W, DOB: 01-11-1979) was arrested for Operating a UTV/ATV While Under the Influence of an Intoxicant 1st Offense.

Malterer was transported to Aurora Medical Center by Hartford Paramedics as a precaution where he was later released.

Assisting at the scene was the Hustisford Fire Department, Iron Ridge Fire Department, Neosho Fire Department, and Harford Paramedics.
