May 27, 2022 – Slinger, WI – A portion of Highway 60 at Lou’s Way and Hwy 175 will be closed around 2:15 p.m. Friday afternoon, May 27, 2022, as parents of Slinger Middle School students make their way from at staging area at Kettle Moraine Bowl to the school to unite with their children.
Richfield Fire Tony Burghardt announced Slinger Middle School has been cleared and there are no injuries at this time following a tense situation after there were unconfirmed reports of a student with a gun.

All clear issued by Washington County Sheriff, “1:50 p.m. UPDATE: An All-Clear has been issued for Slinger Middle School. Parents who have assembled at Kettle Moraine Bowl will be escorted by Wisconsin State Patrol at 2:00 p.m. to the lower parking lot of the school. Any parent responding after 2:00 p.m. can report to the school’s lower parking lot. That is all that will be reported at this time.”
Slinger School Board president Ken Strupp, speaking one-on-one with WashingtonCountyInsider.com, said he spoke with police on scene just before 1 p.m. and they indicated “the situation was under control.”
