June 5, 2017 – Hartford, WI – A small machine caught fire this afternoon at Hartford Finishing, 844 W. State Street in Hartford.
The first call came in at 2 p.m. for Hartford Fire and Rescue. Slinger and St. Lawrence Fire Departments were also called to the scene.
At 3 p.m. the call was upgraded to box level engines from Richfield and Jackson as well as the ambulance from Lifestar. An engine from Neosho was also requested.
A neighbor said he saw smoke coming from the top of the building.
As of 3 p.m. we haven’t received any word about injuries. We’ll keep you posted.
Motorists are advised to please avoid the area.
On a history note: Hartford Finishing had a fire in March 2014. According to a report on Fox 6 the fire three years ago was “in a structure surrounding a large cure oven.” The fire was quickly contained. There was reportedly about $50,000 in damage and nobody was injured. The cause of the fire in 2014 was under investigation.
