Crime Alert in Germantown after unopened mail discovered in industrial park | By Germantown PD

May 23, 2022 – Germantown, WI – On Sunday, May 22, 2022, at 7:35 a.m., a large amount of opened and unopened mail from several business in the Maple Road Industrial Park was found in Menomonee Falls.

The mail was turned over to the Germantown Police Department for follow-up.
It is believed the mail was taken some time between the afternoon hours on Saturday, May 21 and the early morning hours of Sunday, May 22, 2022.

A check of the industrial park revealed many of the mailboxes had their mailbox door open or down. It is unknown if there is any more mail missing from other businesses. Messages have been left with businesses whose mail we currently have.
Some ways to reduce your risk of becoming a victim of theft:
✅ Use a lockable mailbox.
✅ Never leave outgoing mail in your mailbox.
✅ Take all sensitive mail to the post office.
✅ Put outgoing mail in an official blue post office drop box.
✅ Pick up your mail promptly after delivery.
✅ Do not leave mail in your mailbox overnight.
✅ Use electronic bill payment when possible.
