Students earn college credit while still in high school for passing grades on AP exams.

In 2023, HUHS students took 337 AP Exams while in 2024 the number was up to 509. HUHS students achieved above-average scores in Chemistry, Computer Science, English Literature and Composition, Psychology, United States Government and Politics, and United States History.

HUHS Superintendent Jeff Walters said, “The increase in AP exam participation at HUHS signifies a broader commitment to academic rigor and college readiness. These test scores show our students are willing to challenge themselves and that’s what we all want out of the next generation.”

Principal Kelly Lam expressed her appreciation for teachers and students, “We have been on a mission to create a culture of learning and the results are clear. Our passing scores are up by nine percent. It takes hard work and hustle to make this type of dramatic change. It’s exciting to see our students realizing that if they challenge themselves, they can achieve anything. “

“This is just another example of how HUHS is providing a jumpstart to success for all students, no matter if they choose a career, college, or the military upon graduation,” said Superintendent Walters.
