Two dogs die in Richfield house fire | By Sgt. Uhan

July 15, 2020 – Village of Richfield, WI – On Tuesday, July 14, 2020, at 7:51 p.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of smoke coming from a residence, at 1128 Country Highlands Dr. in the Village of Richfield, Washington County. All of the residents had evacuated the home.

Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched along with personnel from the following fire departments: Richfield, Jackson, Germantown, Hartford, Allenton, Slinger, St Lawrence, Sussex, Cedarburg, Lisbon, Menomonee Falls, Merton, and Lifestar Rescue.

Firefighters found the home to be on fire, and they extinguished it. Two dogs perished in the fire. Scenic Road in the area of the fire was closed for several hours.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. No one was injured, and the estimated damage is unknown at this time.
