Train vs Semi last night in Hartford | By Samantha Sali

July 12, 2018 – Hartford, WI – Wednesday evening, July 11, the Hartford Police Department responded to a call regarding a train accident in the area of Wacker Drive. According to the police department:

On Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at approximately 5:47 p.m. Hartford officers responded to a report of an accident involving a semi and a train on N. Wacker Dr. at the railroad crossing north of Hwy. 60.

Upon their arrival they determined that the semi had been southbound on N. Wacker Dr. when a westbound train collided with the tail end of the semi’s trailer. The semi was spun around by the impact but remained upright. A power pole and a fire hydrant were damaged in the incident causing an interruption in some area facilities electrical service.

Hartford Utilities, the Hartford Water Department and the Hartford Fire Department responded to assist with the scene.

Fortunately, no one was injured in this accident.

The investigation of the accident is ongoing at the time of this release, and through traffic on N. Wacker Dr. will be closed for a period of time while the investigation is completed. Nothing further is being released at this time.
