December 3, 2019 – West Bend, WI – A note of clarification regarding the Spring Election in 2020 in the City of West Bend.
City Clerk Stephanie Justmann has added a couple of key sites to the City’s web page for the upcoming April 7 election.
The aldermanic seats up for election are posted below. Corresponding representatives include Dist. 1 alderman John Butschlick, Dist. 3 Andrew Chevalier, Dist. 5 Rich Kasten and Dist. 7 Justice Madl.
Kasten announced in October, he will run for Mayor of West Bend. He also filed papers of non-candidacy for his aldermanic seat. That means Kasten will not run for alderman. So far nobody has filed papers in that district.
Papers have been filed by Dist. 7 alderman and by Dist. 4 alderman Chris Jenkins, who is also running for Mayor.
On Dec. 1, WashingtonCountyInsider.com first published the story about Jenkins announcement for Mayor.
Jenkins does not have to file with regard to his aldermanic seat as that is not up for election until 2021.
Aldermanic candidates need to gather 20-40 signatures and Mayoral candidates need to gather 200-400 signatures. All paperwork must be filed in the City Clerk’s Office by 5 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2020.
