Town of Polk man arrested for his 6th OWI by Washington Co. Sheriffs

Feb. 23, 2017 – West Bend, WI – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, with the assistance of the West Bend Police Department, arrested a 49-year-old Town of Polk man Wednesday evening, Feb. 22 at 9:21 p.m. after he attempted to elude the deputy on a traffic stop.

The deputy clocked the driver 72 mph in a 50 mph zone on Cty Tk D and subsequently observed more erratic driving by the driver.  The deputy attempted to stop the driver on N. Main St. (Cty Hy D) near Green Tree Rd in the City of West Bend when the operator abruptly pulled onto Green Tree Rd. and fled for .7 mile after the deputy had activated emergency lighting and siren.  The driver pulled into a driveway in the 1900 block of Green Tree Road and fled on foot.  Fifteen minutes later, West Bend Police Officers located the subject hiding in a series of pine trees where he was taken into custody for OWI 6th offense.  The Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the West Bend Police Department for their support.  The individual remains in custody at the Sheriff’s Office.

Milwaukee woman arrested on numerous charges

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman after a traffic stop this morning at 2:24 a.m.  The Washington County Sheriff’s deputy observed the driver’s vehicle southbound on US 45 near Pleasant Valley Road traveling 47 mph with a defective headlamp. The deputy initiated a traffic stop.  The operator continued south on US 45 maintaining her speed and activated her emergency flashers.  The driver then exited at Hwy 60 and proceeded west onto Tillie Lake Rd. where she stopped in a parking lot.  Upon making contact with the driver, the deputy noted the odor of marijuana from within the vehicle, noticed an open bottle of wine on the front floorboard and an unusual amount of new toiletry items packed into the vehicle.  A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a small amount of marijuana and documents that suggested the toiletry items were purchased fraudulently in the City of West Bend. The documents and associated evidence were confiscated and turned over to West Bend Police.  During the on scene investigation, the driver began to have a panic attack and was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital by Jackson Rescue.  After medical clearance she was taken into custody for misdemeanor eluding, operation while suspended, open intoxicants and possession of marijuana.

Man arrested on drug charges

A 22-year-old Brookfield man was arrested this morning at 12:07 a.m. on charges of possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia after a routine traffic stop.  The incident occurred on US 45 near West Washington St. when the deputy observed the driver’s vehicle driving in the middle of both lanes on US 45. The deputy made contact with the driver who indicated he was on his cell phone trying to get directions home which caused the lane deviation.  During the contact, the deputy observed drug paraphernalia in the car.  The deputy conducted a field test and obtained a positive reading for heroin. The man remains in custody on charges of possession of schedule I narcotic.
