The cafe served its last breakfast on Sunday, May 12, 2024, on Mother’s Day.

Owner Julie Kline and her mother made such a huge impact in the small farming community north of I41. The cozy cafe was a hotspot for locals who were greeted by name, could get comfortable at a table or booth, and everyone always had to glance at the chalkboard to see what pie was featured that day.
Neighbors say this is definitely a “big loss” for Allenton.
