Washington Co., WI  – “I’m left-handed, dyslexic and I was homeschooled,” Tim Tebow said as he took a jab at himself during the Covering the World for Christ event at the Washington County Fairgrounds. Tebow shared lessons from his walk of faith along with experiences and words of encouragement for those in attendance.

Tebow was the keynote speaker for the event along with Christian musician Matt Maher.

Speaking to a crowd of 1300, Tebow said, “Sometimes we put God in a box or a building on Sunday, but God is so much bigger than that. Every now and then when we just step out and show a tiny, tiny bit of fragile courage or a tiny bit of fragile willingness to be different, you have no idea what God will do. We serve a really, really big God and really, really big things are possible – not because of us; because of Him.”

“You know what’s special,” Tebow asked the audience, “It’s not us. It’s when we give what we have and put it into the hands of the Miracle Maker.”

When asked why it was so important to cover the world for Christ and share the gospel, Tebow said, “One would say, and I might rephrase that, I would say that we aren’t too busy, we’re just busy with the wrong things. The Great Commission gives us a sense of urgency. We should be busy with strategize, pray, give, support care…like all of those things…we should be busy with that. It’s just that sometimes we’re not busy with the main thing.”

“Do you know one of the greatest forms of tragedy,” Tebow queried the audience, “Being successful in everything that doesn’t matter.”

Tebow said Christians should be busy with an urgency, “because we love God and love people so much that we want to get to them as fast as we can so they can hear how loved…they…are.

“The Gospel is the greatest love story, rescue mission of all time. Why would we not tell it.”

A household name on many levels, Heisman Trophy winner Tebow parlayed a successful athletic career into a mission-driven life focused on chasing God’s Word and helping others. As an author of three New Your Times best-selling books, Tebow uses Scripture to encourage people to pursue “a life of significance,” full of passion and purpose.
