Third-place finish for West Bend East boys tennis

West Bend East took third place out of eight teams at the Manitowoc Lincoln boys tennis tournament this Saturday.

They defeated Manitowoc Lincoln 7-0 in the first round, lost 7-0 to Oregon in the second, and defeated Oshkosh West 4-3 in the third place match.

Alberto Loro, Jordan Ketter, Adam Gumm, Ethan Wedemayer, Joey Michels, Hunter Lemler, and Brock Albiero all won their first varsity matches.

The highlights of the day were actually two losses.  Alberto Loro almost came back from being down 5-0 in the second set of his match against Oregon, winning the second set before falling in the super tiebreaker.

Playing in his third match of the day, Colton Harris won an impressive first set while fighting off mental and physical exhaustion, and came within two points of winning the match.

East continues its season on Tuesday at home against Milwaukee King.
