Car vs. school bus accident in neighboring Dodge CountySeptember

November 12, 2019 – Town of Beaver Dam, WI – On November 12 at approximately 8 a.m. the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle crash on Niblick Road in the Town of Beaver Dam involving a school bus. 

There were 10 Prairie View Elementary students on the bus. None of the students reported injuries at the scene. 

 

Initial investigation indicates that a car operated by a 16 year old town of Beaver Dam man was traveling West on Niblick Road. The car lost control on a snow and ice covered road, crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a school bus that had 10 elementary students on it. The Johnson school buswas being operated by a Gary Davidson of Beaver Dam. The bus driver reported no injuries to him or the students. All 10 students were transported to the elementary school on a replacement bus. 

 

Immediately upon arriving at the school all students were evaluated by the nursing staff. Once at the school some of the children reported experiencing some injuries consistent with bumps and scrapes. School staff contacted all parents of the children and all students went to class after the nurse evaluation. 

 

Weather/road conditions were a factor in the crash.  Assisting Dodge County Sheriff’s Office at the scene was 10-51 Towing service.
