There’s going to be an update on the West Bend Theatre redevelopment project during Monday night’s West Bend Common Council meeting. Kevin Zimmer, who met last week with the West Bend Cultural Alliance, is going to give a brief presentation.
There’s an effort underway for the WBCA to save the theatre. An integral part is for the bridge to also be saved. Zimmer will have an update and early word is theatre owner Matt Prescott will also be in attendance.
In a one-on-one interview Prescott has said he is encouraged by “the momentum of the restoration.”
Questioned whether he planned to sell the theatre, Prescott said, “If I do it or my family donates it has yet to be determined. I’m fully supportive as is my dad, George Prescott. It would be hard to imagine the Prescotts not involved in some way, shape and form going forward.”
Other action during tonight’s meeting:
-Watch for Mayor Kraig Sadownikow to approve the reappointment of Lauri Gundrum to the Downtown BID Board.
-There will also be a proclamation declaring January 11-15, 2016 as Wisconsin Adult School Crossing Guard Recognition Week.
-A lease agreement will be approved with Manitou America, 3995 Schuster Drive (Landfill)
