The Moving Wall™ is coming to Germantown Sept. 1 – 5. The half-size replica of the Washington, DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial will be on display at Kennedy Middle School and over the next few months the Germantown American Legion Post 1 and the Germantown Vietnam Moving Wall Committee are working to make the visit an educational event for the community.
There are currently 58,307 names on The Moving Wall™. Fourteen of the veterans are from Washington County including two from Germantown, four from Hartford, three from Kewaskum and five from West Bend.
During the five-day event there will be tributes to veterans including a visual display of nearly 1,000 American flags, a full-color keepsake book filled with stories of veterans from Washington County and a Huey helicopter.
