Washington Co., WI – This is a story of a local teacher making a difference in our community. Mr. Theisen, a teacher in the Slinger School District, has been working with his students to do “good deeds” for the past few weeks throughout Washington County.
His project started with “Croc Friday.” He encouraged all of his kids to wear their Crocs to school on Fridays. He was able to determine some of his students could not afford the shoes, so he worked with local businesses to get donations to purchase Crocs for his kids; he did not want any of his kids to feel left out.
The businesses went above and beyond with donations, so he has been using the rest of the donations to support and say “thank you” to others in the community. He continued to keep his students involved in this process. This weekend he picked to thank local police officers.
Mr. Theisen worked with one of the Washington County Sheriff’s deputies to deliver coffee and donuts to law enforcement throughout the county (ok, I know you can’t help yourself, so feel free to insert jokes here…).
I wanted to personally thank Mr. Theisen for making a difference in our community and providing such valuable life-lessons to our youth.
