West Bend, WI – The Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) is pleased to present its upcoming exhibition, Suzanne Rose—Blind Spot: to pass among them, at its Milwaukee satellite location MOWA | DTN.

On view December 4, 2021 through February 20, 2022 Blind Spot features more than 30 black-and-white photographs of trees and their surroundings capturing the damaging impact humans have on their environment and the quiet resiliency of nature to adapt and reclaim. Each photograph is titled with GPS coordinates of the subject’s exact location.
“Suzanne Rose’s lush black-and-white photography hints at influences of yesteryear while addressing environmental issues resolutely in the present,” said MOWA Executive Director Laurie Winters. “This exhibition is sure to initiate discussions about the Midwest—its overlooked beauty and the need for a more thoughtful relationship with the environment.”
An exhibition party will be held Thursday, December 9 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. at MOWA | DTN located in the Saint Kate—The Arts Hotel. Admission is free. To register visit wisconsinart.org.
Rose is an artist based in Northeast Wisconsin. She began her studies at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago as a painter, studying multimedia, and leaving to create a design partnership that ultimately transitioned into a solo pursuit of fine art photography. Photographically, Suzanne remains close to her Midwestern roots by making thematic bodies of works of family, community, and the environment—exploring memory and metaphor, purpose and place.
MOWA’s Milwaukee satellite location MOWA | DTN is located within Saint Kate–The Arts Hotel in the cultural district of downtown Milwaukee. The gallery is free and open to the public during lobby hours.
