February 5, 2021 – Hartford, WI – Last summer, when we were all facing the grips of the Safer at Home order, people were reminded of the importance of still supporting our local restaurants. This was a time when our restaurants were forced to reinvent themselves as carryout, delivery, curbside delivery and outdoor seating establishments. A recently released study by the Wisconsin Restaurants Association said that in a June, 2020, survey it was found that 70% of all restaurant operators felt that they would not be profitable for the remainder of 2020.
Now we are starting to see the light at the end of this pandemic tunnel of darkness. People
are starting to return to their favorite restaurants. Yet the 2019 level of sales is still very far out in the future. All efforts to support your favorite restaurants needs to continue to be front and center for those that are financially able to do it.
In the City of Hartford and immediately surrounding it, there are 35 restaurants of varying
degree. There are supper clubs, family sit-down, fest food, pick up and others. This does
not include the ready-to-eat dinners you can get from grocery and convenience stores.
While we make our way out of this pandemic, please don’t think that the need to support
your local restaurants is going down.
Please do your best to check out the many options available here in Hartford and, for fun, see if you can name all of the 35 restaurants that we have. There very likely may be some that you have never tried before.
