June 6, 2022 – Kewaskum, WI – On June 6, 2022 at approximately 2:35 p.m., an on-duty Washington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was traveling southbound on Hwy 45 near Timblin Drive in the Village of Kewaskum when he observed a northbound vehicle strike a pedestrian crossing Hwy 45 in the area of Prospect Drive.
The Deputy immediately notified dispatch of the crash, activated his emergency lights, and began rendering aid to the injured subject. A second Washington County squad was also very close and began assisting.
Kewaskum Rescue and the Kewaskum Police Department were also dispatched to the scene.

The pedestrian, a male in his sixties from Kewaskum was found to have visible head injuries. West Bend Intercept was requested to the scene, and Flight for Life was requested to the respond to Froedtert West Bend.
The patient was stabilized on scene and then transported via ambulance to Froedtert West Bend and ultimately to Froedtert Wauwatosa via Flight for Life.
As of writing, the patient is listed in critical condition.
The Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team responded to document the scene. The motor vehicle operator stayed on scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation.
This incident remains under investigation.
