Strong storms forecast Wednesday for Washington Co., WI

July 26, 2023 – Washington Co., WI – A line of strong storms is expected to pass through Washington County, WI this Wednesday morning.

StormsRadar from the National Weather Service shows a strong pocket of storms at 7 a.m. making a straight line east out of Dodge County.

The forecast from the National Weather Service indicates “Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 10am. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Widespread haze before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.”

Area farmers are in desperate need of precipitation as the summer has been extremely dry. Spotty storms have moved through in the last week. On Saturday a strong system passed through Germantown with neighbors reporting about an inch of rain in an hour. There was ponding in Germantown but about 7 miles to the north farmers said they didn’t receive a drop.
