VIDEO | Stolz takes gold in 1000m & places 2nd overall in World Cup standing

February 2, 2024 – Kewaskum, Wi – Speedskating sensation Jordan Stolz of Kewaskum is back on the ice this weekend in the final World Cup event of the season. Stolz, 19, is competing in Quebec City and he’s already taken the gold medal in his first race clocking in a time 1 minute, 7.96 seconds.
Stolz beat Japan’s Tatsuya Shinhama by a mere 38 hundredths of a second.

Stolz took off like a dart with a powerful opening first half of a lap in a time of 16,12 which was the fastest opening time ever in Quebec City.
Stolz hit the final lap with a full second below the track time.
It was interesting to watch the exchange as his competition Zhongyan Ning of China could not pass in front of Stolz and had to wait a hot second to slide in behind on the exchange to the outer lane.
Stolz clocked the fastest 600 meter time ever at sea level racing in at 40.78
Stolz finished in 1.07,96 which just missing the track records but by hundreds of a second.
The track record is 1.07,94
On the season Stolz won 4-of-6 1000m races but skipped the Beijing competition so lost by 3 points to Ning for the overall World Cup title. Stolz finished 2nd overall in World Cup standing.

Stolz is becoming a hot-ticket item for media and according to coach Bob Corby he’s handling it very well.

Coming up Saturday Stolz will race in the 1500m and 500m and then a second 500m on Sunday.

Then its off to Calgary for the World Single Distance Championships in two weeks.

January 28, 2024 – Kewaskum, Wi – A record-breaking weekend of speedskating at the Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, Utah wraps up with Jordan Stolz of Kewaskum, WI, on the ice again this afternoon. Stolz races around 1:35 p.m. in the 1000 meter. Click BELOW to watch live.

The 19-year-old is coming off a huge win Friday afternoon when he set a new world record in the 1000m at 1:05,37. Below is a video of Stolz placing a world record plaque on the wall at the Olympic rink in Salt Lake City.

Stolz competes in the 1000m again Sunday afternoon. His start time is just after 1:35 p.m. See the start-time schedule below.

January 26, 2024 – Kewaskum, WI – A chilling performance at the Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, Utah this Friday afternoon as Jordan Stolz set a new world record in the 1000m.

Stolz finished in a record time of 1:05,37 crushing his previous time of 1:06,27. Interesting to note that prior to the race, Stolz’s coach Bob Corby predicted Stolz may have a 1:05 finish.

Stolz finished well ahead of second place silver medalist Zhongyan Ning of China; he crossed in 1:06,97. David Bosa of Italy placed third at 1:07,06.

January 26, 2024 – Kewaskum, WI – Jordan Stolz, 19, of Kewaskum, WI skates this weekend at the Utah Olympic Oval in Salt Lake City, UT. Stolz is coming off another record-setting performance from last week where he took the gold in the 1000 meter with a record time of 1.06,27.
