West Bend, WI – The scouts of St. Frances Cabrini, Troop 796, finished the “Service Project” portion of the Pope Pius XII Emblem they have been working on over the last few months. Just a couple more catch-up sessions, due to some busy summer schedules, before the Board of Review will take place.
For the majority of these boys, this is the fourth, and final, pillar of the religious emblems for Catholic Scouts. (They completed the first pillar nine years ago)

They helped this morning by clearing an area of buckthorn and dead trees and brush at Lac Lawrann. This was under the direction of Courtney in anticipation of a future kids’ nature playground.
At the end, the boys connected the concepts of importance of volunteering, life states, and vocations of moving forward in giving back to the community as a representative of the Catholic Boy Scout community.
