The dudes in West Bend took advantage of the warm temps and were out practicing their mad skills at the West Bend skate park Saturday.
That park dates to 2003; it was a combo effort between the West Bend Sunrise Rotary and the West Bend Parks Department.
When the skate park first opened it was in the YMCA parking lot just to the south of Highway 33 and Y Drive. Later it moved to Barton and now it has found a home the past few years on North Main Street, kiddie corner to Regner Park.
Dave Berndt has his auto repair shop across the street. He said he’s seen his fair share of biffs and hard plants by kids on scooters, BMX bikes and roller blades. Berndt said he’s had to call 9-1-1 more than once.
Remember when the skate park first opened you had to pay $40 for a season pass?
Two years ago Kevin Schultz organized a spring cleanup. Below is the photo that had moms doing a double take.
This photo is sure to become legend.
