Slinger, WI – As the Slinger School District continues to navigate recent tragedies in the community, it is working to come together to understand, support, and prioritize mental health. The Slinger School District will be hosting two mental health awareness events for parents/adults in the month of May.
Mental Health Parent Presentations - FINAL
On Monday, May 6, 2024, National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) of Washington County will present “Parent Awareness of Suicide and Having Difficult Conversations” from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Slinger High School Performing Arts Center (PAC), 209 Polk Street. This presentation will contain heavy and sensitive information on the topic of suicide.
On Tuesday, May 14, 1014, Slinger School District counselors and psychologists will host “Understanding Mental Health in Children and Early Adolescents” from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Slinger PAC. The event will focus on proactive information about mental health in general.
Speakers will be available for questions following each presentation. Both events are open to the public.
