School Board President Roman Weninger and Gary Feltz are both up for election. Weninger has filed papers to run again for the Slinger School Board. His announcement is below.

I have served on the Slinger School Board the past 12 years. During my time on the board, I have helped improve Slinger School facilities and Slinger School education to First Class status. We prepare our students to be career ready when they graduate. We realize the importance of higher education by preparing students for their academic future. We continuously focus on providing AP courses which does enhance Slinger student opportunities for many outstanding scholarships.

Our ELA and Math are equal to or higher than 96.8% of districts in the state in achievement. Our post-secondary success is outstanding, with our on-track-to-graduation section indicating our scores were equal to or higher than 97% of districts in the state.

Wisconsin’s Department of Instruction produces report cards for every publicly funded school in the state. The accountability rating category is Significantly Exceeds Expectations, Exceeds Expectations, Meets Expectations, Meets Few Expectations, and Fails to Meet Expectations.

Five of our Slinger Schools Exceed Expectations and two of our schools Significantly Exceed Expectations.

Thank you for voting for me in the past elections. During my time on the board, I have helped lead Slinger School to improve its facilities to first-class status. We focused on the Tech Ed Department preparing Slinger School students to be career ready when they graduate.

We added a Performing Arts Center with seating for 800 people. We widened the outdoor running track to eight lanes, built an additional baseball field, and a new concession stand along with needed restrooms. The Slinger School Board did this without raising taxes.

I assisted in the Charter of the Slinger Youth Football program and was the first fund raising chairperson. I served as president of the football program for 2 years. I served on the Slinger Honours Inc. board for 6 years and was president for 3 years. Our Honours Inc. board awarded thousands of dollars to hard working, very deserving students. I assisted in raising over $100,000 for lights on the soccer field and constructing a donated storage facility for the sports complex.

I served with the Allenton Lions Club and helped charter the Town of Cedarburg Lions Club where I served as President and Secretary. I served on the Milwaukee ADAMM board and was Treasurer and board chairman. In 2020, I also served as the Auto Show Gala Event President and helped raise over $100,000 for Special Olympics. Recently I was awarded the Birch Strum Fellowship Award, for unselfish dedication to Humanitarian Projects of the Wisconsin Lions Foundation.

I went to Slinger Schools K through 12. My wife Kristine of 41 years and our three children all went to Slinger Schools K through 12.

We love the Slinger School District and as your school board representative I will work very hard to keep Slinger strong.
