Slinger, WI – There’s a bright red new solar bench charging station sitting out front of the Slinger Community Library, 220 Slinger Road.
The bench was funded through a $2,500 grant by WPPI Energy. Slinger Library Director Leslie Schultz said the bench is a perfect fit on the west side of the library.

“During the summer we do a lot of outdoor events and we just thought why not have one of the solar benches,” she said. “You can charge your device, via the USB port, and you can sit and read on it.”
The solar bench was installed this week. The solar panel is on top and on either side are four USB ports.
Another solar bench is the at the splash pad in Slinger.
“I’m definitely excited,” said Schultz. “We love the color and we know people are going to use it.”
