What a basketball game in Slinger Friday evening! The Lady Owls hosted the Port Washington Lady Pirates. The Pirates came out hot outscoring most of the first half. At the half Port Washington held a slim lead 28 – 27.
Slinger jumped ahead early in the second half but Port Washington evened it up at the end of the third quarter.
Following a Slinger timeout, the Lady Owls became focused and outscored Port Washington for the win 66-43.
Leading scorers for Slinger were freshman Mallory Hoitink with 22 and junior Kate Hosking with 18. Hoitink sunk 4 three-pointers; three of them consecutively. Leading scorer for Port Washington was senior Keelie Schumacher with 11 points.
Tuesday, February 4, Slinger travels to West Bend East followed by a trip to Nicolet on Friday, February 11.
