Slinger Lady Owls move forward in WIAA tournament | By Ron Naab

February 28, 2020 – Slinger, WI – The Slinger Owls girls basketball team hosted the Cedarburg Bulldogs in the second level game in the WIAA basketball tournament.

Slinger’s coach Tony Dobson went home a happy man ready to prepare for Saturday night’s game at Slinger where the Owl’s will face off against Grafton.

Grafton beat the Plymouth Panthers 57 – 39.

At Slinger the game started with only two points scored by each team in the first 8 minutes.

At the end of the first half Slinger was ahead 17 – 12.  In true Slinger fashion the Owls found their groove and scored 29 points to take the game 46 – 33.

Leading scorer for Slinger was Sophomore Callie Ziebell with 13 points, including three 3-pointers.  Second high scorer was Anna Breuer with 12 and Kasey Ott with 10.  Cedarburg was lead by Freshman Reagan Pahl with 12.  Cedarburg’s season leading scorer Clare Diener was out with an illness.

Saturday night’s game will start at 7 p.m. in the Slinger Field House.
