Slinger Lady Owls season comes to an end | By Ron Naab

February 14, 2021 – Slinger, Wi – The Slinger Lady Owls basketball season ended abruptly Saturday in Beaver Dam, when the No. 2 seeded Lady Owls faced off against the No. 1 seed Golden Beavers.

At the half the Owls were down 29 – 22 and the Golden Beavers came out with a very aggressive game plan and beat the Lady Owls  55 – 35.

Beaver Dam was averaging 71 points a game and the Owls defense did pretty well.  The offense just could not get its game in tune.

Leading scorers for the Slinger were sophomore Mallory Hoitink with 13 and Ava Feilbach with 7.  Beaver Dam was led by Paige Yagodinski with 17 and Natalie Jens with 14.

Thursday evening the Beaver Dam Golden Beavers travel to Germantown to play in the WIAA sub-sectionals.  After the WIAA reseeding Beaver Dam is the No. 3 seed and Germantown is the No. 2 seed.
