January 24, 2019 – Madison, WI – Pamela Bremer, School Counselor Secretary at Slinger High School in Slinger, WI, has been recognized as the 2019 Wisconsin School Counselor Secretary/Support Staff of the Year. Pamela’s nomination included a multitude of examples on how she positively impacts the lives of the students while supporting the school counseling program at Slinger High School. Pamela’s nominator, Susan Gehring School Counselor at Slinger High School, said “with the combination of exceptional clerical skills partnered with her incredibly warm personality, she is the perfect person to handle the ever changing role of counseling secretary.” Pamela goes above and beyond to help all students, staff, and parents. She goes out of her way to make all students feel comfortable and welcomed in the counseling office. Pamela has made extraordinary contributions within the counseling department and within the culture of Slinger High School.
Every February, the Wisconsin School Counselor Association recognizes individuals within the school counseling and educational profession who demonstrated profound impact on the school counseling profession and lives of students. Nominations for the Secretary/Support Staff award are submitted the Wisconsin School Counselor Association Professional Recognition & Scholarship Committee and are rated by committee of active and retired school counselors. Winners are determined based off of their contributions to their school counseling program, leadership, and service to their community. The organization selects one individual to receive this award. Award winners are recognized at the WSCA Annual Conference at Monona Terrace in Madison.
