Slinger High School basketball teams edge Hartford Orioles | By Ron Naab

January 27, 2020 – Hartford, WI – The Slinger girls basketball team eked out a victory in overtime against the Hartford Orioles.
It was a doubleheader for varsity basketball as the boys and girls teams from Slinger paid a visit to Hartford High School on Friday night, January 24.
The varsity girls basketball team started the evening and the match up was challenging for both teams.  Slinger took an early lead and then fell into a slump.
Hartford took the lead in the fourth quarter and in the final seconds of regulation the Slinger Lady Owls tied it to send the game into overtime.
Hartford took the lead and in the final two seconds Slinger’s Mallory Hoitink made a basket giving the Lady Owls the edge and a 47 – 46 victory.
Leading scorer for Slinger was Anna Breuer with 24 points and the top scorer for the Orioles was Maci Meyer with 17 points.
The boys were not to be out done.  The Owls and Orioles also went into overtime with Slinger coming out with the 53-51 win.
