Slinger firefighter recovering following medical emergency | By Slinger FD

July 30, 2024 – Slinger, Wi – The Slinger Fire Department is releasing a statement regarding a call over the weekend where a firefighter required medical attention.  Details are below.
Slinger Fire
On July 27, 2024 at 8:48 a.m., the Slinger Fire Department was dispatched to a residential carbon monoxide alarm in the Village of Slinger.
As volunteers arrived and prepared to respond to the incident, one of our firefighters experienced a severe medical emergency.
Other firefighters quickly assessed the situation and initiated lifesaving efforts. Personnel continued for several minutes and the firefighter was ultimately transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The condition of the firefighter has improved significantly and they are expected to make a recovery thanks to the immediate lifesaving efforts.
The Slinger Fire Department  would like to sincerely thank all who were involved in this trying time for our department including Lifestar Emergency Medical Services, Slinger Police Department, and the Hartford Fire/Rescue Department.
