July 10, 2021 – Slinger, WI – My name is Kaylee Pingel of the Slinger FFA Chapter and I am going to give an update regarding the third and final day of the 92nd Wisconsin FFA convention.
After great anticipation Wednesday night, we learned Brooke Kiefer was named the 4th Runner-Up in the Star in Ag Placement competition. To receive this title Brooke had to receive her State Degree, complete the lengthy star battery application, and be interviewed by a panel of judges. This was an incredible achievement for Brooke.
We started Thursday morning by watching Slinger FFA member Ally Loosen perform in the “Wisconsin State FFA Honors Band and Chorus Concert.”
We are so proud of Ally for all her hard work and dedication within not only her performances throughout the week but the time she spent practicing.
Following the performance, members attended the “Sixth General Session.” At this session we watched member Ally Loosen perform her last piece for the Honors Band of the year as well as learned of her nomination to play trumpet in the National Band.
Member Kaylee Pingel was recognized as the chapters “Three Star Leader.” This award “recognizes a selected FFA member from a local chapter for being actively involved in chapter activities in Student Development, Chapter Development, and Community Development.”
Following this award, member Kaylee Pingel accepted the Gold-ranked “National Chapter Award” on behalf of the chapter. This award “is designed to recognize FFA chapters that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization. These chapters improve chapter operations using a Program of Activities (POA) that emphasize growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture.”
Within this award is a category called “Building Communities.” the Slinger FFA chapter received 7th place for this area.
The Slinger FFA Chapter is proud of each and every one of its member’s accomplishments this year. The 92nd Wisconsin FFA Convention was truly one to remember.”
