SAMBA 10TH ANNUAL CHICKEN DINNER IS A GO
This coming Saturday, May 7 at the Allenton Veterans Park Pavilion will be the Slinger Area Music Boosters Association [SAMBA] 10th Annual Chicken Dinner.
Money from this event helps many of our student-musicians with scholarships. SAMBA supports all music functions in the Slinger School District.
“If you didn’t purchase a dinner ticket, come on out for the silent and live auction as well as bucket raffles and a couple of 50/50 raffles,” said President Lori Matasek.
The Slinger High School Marching Band has performed at two Pearl Harbor Survivors events, the 2009 London New Year’s Day parade and many other venues.
The Choral groups from Slinger have impressed many audiences with their singing skills, as well.
There are some great items that will be part of the live auction (starts @ 7 p.m).
Some of the exciting Live Auction Items are:
- Packer-signed football in case
- 2 sets of four Brewer tickets – Gold Packages
- 2 Country Thunder passes
- Rheem 50-gallon natural gas chimney vent hot water heater
- 2 passes to Road America-June Sprints, along with a Craig Counsel autographed baseball
- Brewers’ Ryan Braun autographed baseball
The committee reports there will be liquid refreshments available for purchase for those that may be thirsty.
The event starts at 4 p.m. and will continue until the last of the supporters of an outstanding music department.
