February 12, 2021 – Slinger, WI – Friday was the start of the second season for girls basketball as the WIAA regional playoffs featured a familiar matchup between West Bend West and Slinger.
The first half featured a lot of strong defensive plays by both teams with West Bend West leading at the half 14 – 12.
Second half, the Slinger Lady Owls jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Slinger downed West Bend West 44 – 38.
Leading scorers were Spartans junior Bella Baker with 17 points. Slinger was paced by sophomore Mallory Hoitink with 16 and junior Kacey Ott with 13.
Slinger will travel to Beaver Dam on Saturday to face Beaver Dam Golden Beavers at 4 p.m. Beaver Dam outscored Hartford 86 – 63. Beaver Dam is ranked No. 1 in the state.
