June 6, 2022 – Boltonville, WI – If you live close by me, you’ve probably seen me walking my sheep down the road in Boltonville.
I started walking my sheep with their halters on, inside their pen. I did that so I could get confident in learning how to walk them. It was a little struggle the first time around because they were learning what the halter meant for them.
I slowly walked them a little bit further every time, and now we walk them around the block in Boltonville for good exercise.

One fun thing I’ve learned already is that sheep like to go for walks. They also like to explore. Once they are comfortable going on the same path, they walk very easily.
Another fun thing I’ve learned is one of my sheep are especially motivated by treats! Brock loves it when we get back from our walks, he knows right away he’ll be getting fed! He comes right up to me at the gate and tries to sneak out some grain before I can get it in the feeder.
That’s all for now. I’m busy getting them in shape for the Washington County Fair.
