April 16, 2021 – Hartford, WI – Painted jeans were put up in downtown Hartford this week to recognize National Sexual Assault Awareness Month as requested by the Hartford
Medical Foundation.
The HMF works with medical professionals in helping victims in gathering the evidence, finding their perpetrators, and putting them in jail.
The campaign began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped the person who raped her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent.
