Serious injury accident in Town of Germantown | By Sgt. Brandon Hood

October 18, 2020 – Town of Germantown, WI – On October 18, 2020 at approximately 2:05 am, the Washington County Dispatch Center was advised of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 145 and County Road Y (Goldendale Road) in the Town of Germantown.

Upon arrival, deputies and officers from the Germantown Police Department, located the crash.

The vehicle crashed through a guardrail and rolled down a hill into a wooded area.  The driver, and sole occupant of the vehicle, was ejected from the vehicle and pinned under it.

 

Germantown Fire Department responded, and was assisted by Jackson Fire Department.  The driver was safely removed, and transported by Flight for Life to an area hospital.

Initial investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling northbound on County Road Y and failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 145 and crashed through the guardrail.

 

Alcohol appears to be a factor in this crash.  The roadway was closed for approximately 2.5 hours for extraction and vehicle removal.

Assisting agencies were the Germantown Police Department, Germantown Fire Department, Jackson Fire Department, Flight for Life, and WE Energies.

The injured operator was identified as a 58 year old Oconto County man.  The crash remains under
