Dec. 20, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – On Dec. 20, 2018 at 9:37 a.m. the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a semi-versus-semi crash on State Highway 33 at the intersection of County Highway TW in the Town of Hubbard,Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Preliminary investigation shows Alajandro Alfaro, 31-years-old from Elgin, IL, was operating a a 2016 Freightliner north on County Highway TW.
Alfaro failed to stop for the stop sign and struck a 1999 Peterbilt operated eastbound on State Highway 33 by Royce Shultis, 58-years-old from Reedsburg, WI.
Road blockage caused both lanes of State Highway 33 to be shut down until the debris could be cleared. As of approximately 10:35 a.m. the eastbound lane of State Highway 33 has been re-opened. The westbound lane is still closed until removal of the semis is complete.
Alfaro was transported to Beaver Dam Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Heavy fog is believed to be a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
