August 10, 2018 – Slinger, WI – Volunteers and members of Troop 765 in Jackson made a special delivery to the Washington County Humane Society this week.
Bailey Marshall, 15, built a couple tables, benches and six chairs for the new courtyard at the Human Society on Highway 60. Marshall needed to complete a project as he works toward his Eagle Scout Badge. Below is a story he filed about the experience.
We arrived at the Humane Society at 5:30 p.m. and drove around back to the courtyard. Some of my fellow scouts and a scout leader were there to help unload.
Jessica, the volunteer coordinator, showed us where to put stuff in the courtyard. The construction at the Humane Society will continue over the next year or so and the new courtyard will be part of that construction. Jessica gave the scouts, leaders, and parents a tour of the facility. She talked about the dogs and the adoption process. Before we left, she also told us about events they had coming up, such as Paws in the Park and Festival of Trees.
