UPDATE | Fraudulent door-to-door scam in area; attempt to locate suspects | By Washington Co. Sheriff

July 11, 2024 – Washington Co., WI – We appreciate all of the information that we have received from the community. We are now able to narrow down the specific vehicle that we are looking for. This is a picture of what we believe is the actual suspect vehicle. It is a 2021-2024, Ford F150, white in color, occupied by two younger males described as having olive-colored skin. The truck was not pulling a trailer. The plastic chemical container was in the bed of the truck.

The suspects offered to spray a chemical on the victim’s roof to prolong the life. They talked their way into the residence and then distracted the victims while they committed theft.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office also wants to make the community aware that there are multiple traveling sealing crews in the area offering unsolicited services.
Please be cautious of all contractors offering services that you did not seek out. Although not illegal on their face this type of solicitation is often associated with unlawful scams.

July 10, 2024 – Washington Co., WI – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in the Town of Wayne involving two males going door to door possibly in a mid-90s early 2000s white pickup truck with a tank in the bed.

They were offering to spray a chemical on the roof to prolong the life of the roof.

This is fraudulent and anyone with contact should call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office immediately.

Please do not allow them access to your house. If anyone has contact with them please contact the Sheriff’s Department at (262) 335-4378.
