“Samantha is a quiet leader,” said Radewahn. “She has participated in various volunteer opportunities for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and has participated in the Relay for Life. She is a member of the Hallelujah Singers at school and was a lead member of the school dance team last year. Samantha has volunteered her time with VBS at church and plays volleyball on the school team. Samantha attends church faithfully. She is a member of the committee heading up our school’s fourth-quarter service project. Samantha is always willing to step up and offer her help any time someone asks for it.”
Mr. Schiemann said, “I am recommending Samantha for this because of her love for Jesus, her willingness to serve others in any capacity, and for her growing leadership skills.”
Samantha is in seventh grade at St. John’s Lutheran School, West Bend.
LJHA was designed by Lutheran Educators for Lutheran Schools. It was designed to recognize students who exercise leadership, servanthood, and discipleship, while excelling at academics and to foster these qualities through service projects and other activities.
The Student of the Year Award is based on demonstrated community involvement, church involvement, and the LJHA standards of discipleship, service, leadership, and academics.
