West Bend, WI – During this week leading up to Mother’s Day. the Museum of Wisconsin Art, 205 Veterans Ave., West Bend, WI, is saluting moms in the community with one of the most well-known paintings of a mother and child. Adoration of the Christ Child (aka The Holy Family) was painted by Carl von Marr around 1898.

As great a painting as this is, it was originally BETTER. Marr signed it twice because he made major changes. Above is how it originally looked – Virgin’s gown, tree, angel’s wings.
