Rotary Students of the Month for Hartford Union High School | By Ron Schlitt  

Hartford, WI – Amiah Brakob and Brady Senkbeil were honored recently as Hartford Rotary Students of the Month. The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary’s meetings during the month of March.

Amiah Brakob is the daughter of Stacy Monnahan and Tony Brakob. Throughout high school, Brakob has been involved in Girls Golf, the Fall Musical, Student Council, H-Club,
National Honors Society, Dance Team, Math Club, and the Math Team.

For the past three years, Brakob has volunteered at her grade school three days a week to choreograph their spring musical. This year Erin School is putting on The Little Mermaid Jr.

Through Student Council, Brakob has volunteered at events such as the Veteran’s Day
breakfast, Powderpuff, downtown decorating for homecoming and Christmas, Fiesta Latina, and the Middle School Leadership Conference. Through H-Club, Brakob has volunteered at the Shamrock Shuffle, football concessions, Erin School Fitness Friday, Salvation Army bell ringing, Laps for Logan, and the Love is Greater than Hate Project.

Brakob was chosen as the team captain of the conference championship Girls Golf team
and was selected 3rd team all-conference this past fall. She was named academic all-state in 2022 and 2023 for Girls Golf.

Brakob is president of the Concert Choir and was named dance captain for the fall musical. She received a Jerry nomination for her dance performance in the production of Once Upon a Mattress. Brakob is also a member of the Student Council executive board and oversees the leadership committee.

After high school, Brakob plans to attend either Purdue University or the University of
Wisconsin-Madison to major in computer science.

Brady Senkbeil is the son of Tracy and Chris Senkbeil. Senkbeil has been very active in the following co-curricular activities at HUHS: Student Athletic Training (Gr. 9,10,11,12), Boys Tennis (Gr. 9,10,11,12), Student Council (Gr. 10,11,12), Math Club (Gr. 9,10), National Honor Society (Gr. 11,12), HUHS Concert Choir Community Performances (Gr. 11,12), HUHS Jazz Band (Gr. 12).

Senkbeil is interested in music and as a member of the HUHS Concert Choir, he has had the opportunity to perform with the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra and the Bel Canto Chorus. He was a WSMA State Qualifier for Musical Theater Solo, Classical Duet, and Jazz Ensemble (Gr. 11,12).

Senkbeil has also been involved with three musicals at Hartford: The Addams Family, Legally Blonde, and Once Upon a Mattress. He was nominated for a Jerry Spirit Award and a Jerry Outstanding Leading Performance Award for his role as Prince Dauntless in Once Upon a Mattress. Senkbeil also serves as chair of the blood drive committee for Student Council.

Senkbeil has given back to his community by volunteering his time with Fiesta Latina,
the HUHS Showcase, Enchantment in the Park, decorating downtown Hartford for Christmas, and serving as a Swim Team Assistant and Lifeguard for Hartford Special Olympics.

In the fall, Senkbeil plans to attend the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities to pursue a degree in Special Education. He also plans on pursuing future theatrical endeavors in either college or in the community.
