January 23, 2024 – Washington Co., Wi – Motorists are dealing with an assortment of situations as a wintery weather mix coats I41, Hwy 45, and side roads across Washington County.
The National Weather Service is reporting widespread mist and fog are expected tonight, with areas of dense fog possible.
Motorists who just drove back from the airport in Milwaukee said the roads were worse as they got back into Washington County, but so was the precipitation.
A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through 10 AM CST Wednesday, with some patchy freezing fog and freezing rain possible Wednesday morning.
Areas of fog may occur at times into the rest of the week, with mild air over the melting snowpack. Some dense fog may occur at times.
The combination of melting snow and rain will result in an increased risk for ice jams on area rivers later this week.
