October 15, 2020 – West Bend, WI – River Road is expected to reopen next week, hopefully by mid-week, October 22 – 23, according to the City Engineering department.
It was August 12 when barricades went up between CTH NN and Rusco Drive.
Construction involved installation of sanitary sewer main, water main, storm sewer, curb and gutter, rehabilitation of the roadway structure with pavement replacement, and restoration of disturbed areas.
The work is being done to allow development of the new $26 million Milwaukee Tool plant.
This is the new TIF 14 located to the south of Rusco Road along the east side of River Road.
Milwaukee Tool will be in the 62 acres of Area A with the road extended off Rail Way.
The contractor overseeing the development is Riley Construction of Kenosha, WI. About 50 people will be employed at the new plant.
On another road construction note, Schmidt Road is reportedly open now between Creek Road and Barton Avenue.
